How do I record my first conversation and read the score?

Tap Record on the Home tab, tap again to end, and let the upload finish. A few minutes later the conversation shows a score, feedback and the objections raised.

The fastest way to learn Roonly is to record one real conversation and read what comes back. Plan on five minutes for the recording and a few more for processing.

Start recording

  1. Open the app to the Home tab.
  2. Tap the large Record button. Recording starts immediately, and the button turns into a timer with a red dot. A card under it reads Recording, LIVE, Tap to end.
  3. Put the phone in your pocket and have the conversation. Recording keeps going with the screen locked.

Some companies set the Home button to say Shift instead of Record. If yours does, see the shift mode article; the rest of this page still applies to what you see afterward.

Stop recording

  1. Take the phone out and tap the timer, or tap the Recording card.
  2. A full-screen view shows the elapsed time and a square stop button labeled Tap to end. Tap it.
  3. The app captures your location, queues the upload, and returns to Home. A banner reads Uploading conversation, then Conversation uploaded.

If you want to throw the recording away instead, tap Cancel in the top left. The app asks Discard recording? and deletes the audio if you confirm.

You are not asked to pick an outcome or type a name. Roonly infers the outcome and the prospect's name from the transcript. You can correct either one later.

Wait for processing

Under Recent Conversations on Home, the new entry shows Processing until the transcript and analysis are done. Opening it early shows the message "Your recording is being transcribed and analyzed. Check back in a few minutes." The screen refreshes on its own every few seconds.

Very short recordings with no speech, or recordings where only you talk, are not scored and do not appear in History. Recordings longer than 2 minutes that contain more than one door conversation are split into separate entries.

Read the score

Tap the conversation to open it. From the top:

  • Header. Duration, date, an outcome chip such as Lead or No Interest, and a pencil icon to edit the prospect name or outcome.
  • Performance Scores. The Overall Score out of 100, then bars for Opener, Discovery, Value Prop, Objections and Close. Bars are green at 70 and above, orange from 50 to 69, and red below 50.
  • Conversation Timeline. An audio player with skip and playback-speed controls, drawn over a bar chart of who was talking when.
  • Talk Ratio. How much of the conversation was you versus the prospect.
  • AI Feedback. A two-sentence summary of the conversation.
  • Practice This Conversation. Appears when the score is 70 or lower and offers an AI roleplay built from this exact conversation.
  • Objections Raised and Focus Areas. The objections the prospect used and the two or three things to work on next.
  • What went well, Areas to improve, Coaching Tips. Tap each to expand.
  • Transcript. The first eight lines, with your name on your lines and Prospect on theirs. Tap View full transcript for the rest.
  • Notes and Manager Comment. Your own notes and anything your manager writes back.

Fix the outcome or name

Tap the pencil icon in the header. The Edit Conversation screen lets you set Prospect Name and choose Sale, Lead, Callback or No Interest. Tap Save. Outcomes drive your points, the leaderboard and contests, so keep them accurate.
