How do I install the Roonly mobile app?

Roonly runs on iPhone and Android. iPhone is the primary platform and includes the Apple Watch app. Android is distributed through Google Play testing tracks rather than a public listing, so the install steps differ.

Before you install

You need an account first. Accounts are created when you accept an invitation from your manager or when an admin sets up the company. If you have not received an invitation email, ask your manager to send one before installing. The mobile app has no sign-up screen for joining an existing team; it only signs you in.

iPhone

1. Open the App Store and search for Roonly, or tap the App Store badge on the page that appears after you accept your invitation.
2. Install the app and open it.
3. Sign in with the email address your invitation was sent to and the password you created.

The app requires iOS with background audio support. Recording continues with the screen off and the phone in your pocket.

Android

Roonly for Android does not appear in Google Play search. It is delivered through a Play testing track:

1. Your manager sends you an opt-in link for the Roonly testing program.
2. Open the link on your Android phone and accept the invitation to test.
3. After opting in, open Google Play, search for Roonly or use the direct store link your manager shares, and install.
4. Sign in with your invited email and password.

Keep the app updated from Google Play. Older Android builds recorded audio in a format the dashboard cannot play, so if a conversation shows no waveform or will not play back, update the app before recording again.

First launch

The first time you sign in, Roonly walks you through three prompts:

• Your Data and AI Services. This screen lists the third-party services that transcribe and analyze your recordings, what is shared with them, and what is not. Tap I Agree and Continue to proceed. You cannot record until you accept.
• Microphone access. Allow it. Without it the Record button shows a Microphone Access Required alert.
• Notifications. Allow them if you want lock-screen alerts when a recording is interrupted, when a manager comments on a conversation, or when training is assigned.

Location access is requested later, the first time you save a recording. Roonly uses it to attach an address to the conversation and, during a shift, to tag each detected conversation with where it happened.

Onboarding lessons

New reps may land on a screen titled Let's Get You Ready instead of the Home tab. These are onboarding lessons your manager assigned. Work through them, or ask your manager to skip onboarding for you if you were told to start recording right away. The Home tab unlocks once onboarding is completed or skipped.

Apple Watch

If you wear an Apple Watch, the Roonly Watch app installs alongside the iPhone app. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, find Roonly in the list, and install it. The Watch needs your iPhone nearby and signed in to Roonly.
